What do you get when you combine aerodynamics and lightweight construction? You get the 2012 Skyline Nomad Joey Select Travel Trailer. It’s amazing what aerodynamics can do to improve gas mileage and overall towing satisfaction!

If you’re looking for a travel trailer that offers versatility when it comes to floorplans, you’re in luck. The Nomad Joey Select has 15 to choose from. Since we don’t have time to check out each one, we’re going to focus our efforts on the 376, the third largest model in the series.

The 376 sleeps 10 and has an exterior length of 40’4”, an exterior width of 96”, an exterior height of 11’2”, and an interior height of 78”. It weighs in with an unloaded vehicle weight of 7,600 lbs, a dry hitch weight of 1,150 lbs, a dry axle weight of 6,450 lbs, a GVWR of 11,200 lbs and a carrying capacity of 3,300 lbs. In the way of water, it has a 36-gallon fresh water system, a 40-gallon gray water tank, a 40-gallon black water tank and a 6-gallon water heater. It also comes with a 13,500 BTU air conditioner and a 25,000 BTU furnace.

Built on a cambered steel frame chassis with steel outriggers, the Nomad Joey Select doesn’t let the harsh conditions that can come with the outdoors push it around. That’s why it’s built with extra durable construction features. Its sidewalls feature steel-strap reinforcement for superior durability, as well as double wrapped and sealed corners and wall studs on 16″ centers. To keep things cosy inside, the walls come equipped with R-7 settle-resistant insulation.

Overhead, you’ll find tapered roof construction that’s designed to promote water runoff (that includes an awning drip rail). Its seamless one-piece roof comes with a 12-year manufacturer’s limited warranty and it’s pre-wired and framed for a roof air conditioner. Underfoot, the floor is constructed with 5/8″ tongue and groove floor decking, and its tightly sealed woven polyethylene underbelly helps with the travel trailer’s aerodynamics.

Other exterior features that will come in handy include two 20-lb. propane tanks, holding tanks with a drain outlet, a rear bumper with sewer hose carrier, radius clamp-ring windows, a patio convenience light, an entry screen door and door assist handle, black rotocast wheel wells, a battery rack, electric brakes on all the wheels, safety chains and a breakaway safety switch.

Keeping your safety in mind, the Nomad Joey Select comes with a host of safety features. With a smoke detector, propane leak detectors, carbon monoxide alarm, a flush door latch with integral dead bolt lock and a fire extinguisher, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your family will be kept safe.

Inside the Nomad Joey Select travel trailer, you’ll be treated to a color-coordinated designer interior and maple cabinetry, complete with hardwood frame doors and decorative glass inserts. On the floor, you’ll find embossed vinyl flooring, as well as carpet and padding (in certain areas). Other interior features include mini blinds, a decorative wall border, full extension ball bearing drawer guides and high pressure laminate countertops.

In the open-concept main living area of the 376 is where you can relax and dine. The hide-a-bed sofa turns into extra sleeping space for overnight visitors, while the dinette is the perfect place to hang out or eat a meal. When friends come over, crank up the tunes on the AM/FM/DVD/MP3 stereo with an iPod connection and interior and exterior speakers.

Also in this area is the kitchen, so you can chat with family and friends while you prepare meals and snacks. It comes complete with a Dometic double door refrigerator, a Wedgewood three-burner range with oven and piezo, and a large carousel Dometic microwave oven. Finishing of the kitchen are radius countertops, a power range hood with a light, a pantry and an acrylic kitchen sink with a high-rise faucet.

There’s no need to rough it in the Nomad Joey Select. Forget trekking to the outhouse – this travel trailer comes with a fully stocked bathroom. You’ll be happy to know that it has an ABS tub/shower combo with wall surround, a china foot flush toilet and a deluxe medicine cabinet with mirror over the vanity sink. Other handy features include towel ring, toilet paper holder, skylight over the tub, and power bath vent.

Invite the whole gang to come along on vacation with you – the 376 has lots of room to accommodate everyone. On one side of the trailer, you’ll find a bunk bed area, complete with wardrobe, an extra dinette and an overhead TV. On the other side is the master bedroom that comes outfitted with a queen-sized bed with an Evergreen mattress, lift-up storage underneath, a color-coordinated quilted bedspread and deluxe headboard. For clothes storage, pack them away in the two bedside wardrobes.

Some popular options you can choose to go with include a power-side awning, aluminum wheels, camp kitchen, fireplace, night shades, outside shower, 26″ Vizio LCD TV, and gas/electric/DSI water heater.
