New owner of used 2008 40X
By T North (I am an Owner) on Aug 13, 2017Have had the unit 2 months and traveled 2,000 miles towing a Lexus RX330 on tow dolly. Great power but mine is a 360 hp unit. Previous owners did not maintain the unit very well so I have brought all items up to new spec. Outdoor kitchen plumbing from factory very poor. When kitchen slid to store position, ... it crushed the drain line to grey tank flat thus sink would not drain after I installed new bilge pump. Steer does wander a little but the Hancook tires fixed that. Goodyear tires are horrible. I must state, the unit functions fantastic now that I have fixed all the items that were ignored. Like a yacht on wheels, ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO. But love the coach. We replaced the euro chairs with a jack knife sofa. Carpet and wood floor replacement next as well as refinish dinette table and new cushion upgrades.Rating breakdown

Owner review of a Excursion 40X
By witthans (I am an Owner) on Dec 31, 2014Looks can be deceiving. It appears all of what I thought was real wood cabinets are actually photo paper over particle board. Leather sofas are "Pleather" meaning imitation. The vinyl wallpaper is starting to shrink and ripple on the walls. Some items are ok and then some are just plain cheesy.Rating breakdown

Quality is Horrible
By NCGent (I am an Owner) on Aug 27, 2012Nothing but problems since day 1 with electrical system, the jacks, the water heater the slides. On road performance is acceptable, but while amazing to look at iside, this is a very, very poorly built unit.Rating breakdown

Buy The Extended Warranty
By Eric G (I am an Owner) on Apr 04, 2010I have had this motor home now for 2 1/2 years. This is my 5th coach and I am still amazed at the poor quality motor homes built in this day and age. The luxury inside is amazing but the fit and finish has allot to be desired. This model comes with dual lounge chairs a sofa, sleep number bed and all ... the amenities. The layout is one of the best I have seen in a class A in this price range. The shower valve is the old style single handle. Not sure why they wouldn't have installed the new style single handle cold to hot valve so popular today. As for repairs this unit seems to spend as much time in the shop as it does on the road. The repairs at the dealership were shoddy and almost every repair required 2-3 trips to get the same item repaired except for the satellite/TV. That took 7 times to get that fixed. Fleetwood does not stand behind the products very well even if it is a continuing problem. It finally cost me over $500.00 out of pocket to get the TV/satellite repaired that had already been repaired 7 times. As for the chassis we have had issues with the steering box, tire wear and now the air bags and brakes but I will say Freight liner has been good about standing behind the warranty but charge you $ 60.00 to $100.00 if they don't find a problem. I kept telling them the engine idled way to high (1200 RPM on a diesel!)when cold and they said it was normal but guess what 2 years later they come out with a recall that fixes the problem. There is allot of wander in the front end that maybe a stabilizer would fix (next option) but a I believe that is something the mfg should have installed to stop the wander. Overall- The unit is a spectacular way to travel but Fleetwood needs to step up and build a better unit. The new Cummings power plant has lots of power and has been spectacular so far. If your purchasing this unit I would definitely recommend a extended warranty. Look at aftermarket warranty's rather then the dealership making up the ones they offer. Hope this helps future buyer'sRating breakdown
